What's in a name?

So, we've gotten a lot of inquiries as to the origin of Henry's name.  Here's a run-down.

Because we weren't sure the gender of our baby to be, we came up with a short list of names for boys and girls.  Henry has always been at the top of my list as my favorite boy's name.  It wasn't Andrew's most favorite name, but he liked it a lot and it was one of the few that we agreed on.  Henry also happens to be the name of my maternal grandfather, a "bonus" in choosing the name.

Wellington.  It's not exactly a common name, or so we've been told.  It's true that the Duke of Wellington is the one who beat Napoleon, but that's not why we choose it.  It's also the name of the capital of New Zealand, a country that's very near and dear to our hearts -- it's the place where we spent a lot of time together and realized our relationship was something great!

Gerard is the name of a very dear friend of Andrew.  Gerry is a catholic priest Andrew met as a middle school student.  Over the years they have maintained a very close friendship, and are like brothers.

Henry Wellington Gerard Jeeves, it's a long name for a little boy, but we're sure he'll grow into it.
